Metal Shop
Metal Shop advances students’ technical skill and understanding of fabrication through integrated instruction in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and torch welding. Emphasis is placed on real-world fabrication practices, blueprint interpretation, welding codes (AWS D1.1), and precision shop techniques using a fixture table and standardized layout tools. Students will progressively build complex projects that require planning, fixturing, and multi-process welds, culminating in client-style commissions. Metal Shop students will take the knowledge they learned in Welding class and apply it to real-world builds for themselves, others, and the school.
Course may count as elective credits OR may fulfill Eng. 11, Eng.12, Economics, Algebra 2 or 4th year math.
